As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for setting strategy, leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably, growing and developing talented engineers, and cultivating a healthy, results-driven culture on your team to deliver significant value to our customers and enable our business to scale.

You’ll leverage your past experience and play a crucial role in laying the groundwork for a successful engineering organization, contributing to developing foundational processes that enable our entire team to scale. Our business has an incredible product-market fit and effectively monetized since the day we signed our first customer.

In this role, you’ll be leading Vanta’s Growth Platform team, focusing on driving customer activation, engagement, and retention by building features and tools that make it easy for users to adopt our product, realize value quickly, and build habits using it to achieve their compliance and security goals. You’ll also partner with other product teams to develop systems that drive deeper product adoption and engagement both within the core product and emerging business lines. Finally, you will maintain and evolve the quantitative definition of customer success and leverage product analysis to inform future decisions.

What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager at Vanta:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable growth systems leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, React), getting hands on when necessary.

  • Lead your team in identifying and addressing opportunities to improve customer activation and engagement, to support Vanta’s core product and unlock new opportunities for the business.

  • Drive significant impact for our customers and business by leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably.

  • Develop and hire teams of talented and kind engineers.

  • Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities with a sustainable technical foundation.

  • Work closely with Vanta’s customers and customer-facing teammates to build and ship high-value products and growth infrastructure.

  • Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta’s engineering culture.


How to be successful in this role:

  • Have two or more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering management role.

  • Led customer-facing growth teams and/or projects that support product and business growth.

  • Have an understanding of SaaS business growth metrics and quantitative product analysis.

  • Upleveled teams of engineers by mentoring and leading by example.

  • Have experience working at rapidly scaling startups and/or large companies with environments that prioritize a bias for action.

  • Have an interest in learning about security and compliance or prior experience in the space.

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $190,000 - $223,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
