Our mission at V3 Sports is to elevate our community, and one of our passions is educating our community on how to swim. Every year, an unnecessary number of deaths occur due to drowning. V3 Sports is continuing to develop aquatic programs that help people of all ages learn how to stay afloat in the water.
We provide aquatics and fitness offerings, on-site childcare and a new home for the Boys and Girls Club. Our goal is to begin the Phase Two expansion (adding a 50-meter pool, basketball courts, a track, and more) at the end of 2024 and complete it in 2027.
Wages and Benefits
$24 - $26 per hour; Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), plus 12 paid holidays and one floating holiday; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance. There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. V3 Sports sponsors a retirement plan with a 4% employer match and immediate vesting.
A Typical Day in the Life…
A typical day as V3 Sports’s Fitness Program Assistant provides an opportunity to play a lead role in launching the personal fitness program. As the V3 Sports fitness program matures beyond personal training, this position will see many opportunities for growth! Responsibilities will include the following:
Program Development and Management
- Managing the day-to-day operations of a personal fitness program, including individual personal training (one-on-one and two-on-one training sessions).
- Managing program-specific registration, staff and participant scheduling, attendance, and session inventory through online platforms (e.g., MindBody Online).
- Collaborating with supervisors to develop new and timely fitness and wellness program offerings.
- Leading fitness and wellness-related special events in collaboration with the Director of Facilities and program manager.
- Maintaining statistical data and participation records related to personal training services.
- Reviewing, implementing, and recommending policies and procedures to effectively manage risks related to personal injury, property damage, and financial loss.
- Working within V3 Sports and other external units to identify, assess, respond to, monitor, control, and minimize risks.
Program Leadership
- Supervising five to ten part-time, contracted personal trainers.
- Recommending and providing ongoing development opportunities and training (e.g., conferences and certifications) for all supervised staff as it relates to their field of expertise and job duties.
- Identifying needs and providing purchase recommendations to the Director of Facilities for fitness assessments and personal training.
- Actively working to create a welcoming environment for members and promoting inclusive opportunities.
- Coordinating and communicating with organizations, entities, and departments on campus to encourage involvement and engagement in programs and services.
Marketing and Communications
- Working with the Marketing Team on implementing the marketing plan.
- Communicating with the interdepartmental areas needed for effective administration of fitness and wellness programs and services.
- Collaborating with external partners to advance fitness and wellness initiatives.
Who You Are
- You possess a degree or have educational background in kinesiology or a related field.
- You have at least six months to one year of work experience as a personal trainer in a variety of settings, i.e. community center, university, fitness center, etc.; Preferably two years’ experience with at least one reference provided.
- You have experience managing organized programming, multiple staff members, and other administrative tasks.
- You are able and willing to maintain current CPR, AED, and BBP certifications. (For new hires, training will be provided during onboarding.)
- You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports’ driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
