We're hiring a CAD Mechanical Designer or Sr. Mechanical Designer to join our Worksurfaces and Storage team. In this role, you will be a part of office furniture development by performing complex mechanical design tasks, improving product designs and working collaboratively with various internal teams!
Who you are:
You have a mechanical mindset and enjoy computer aided design modeling. You are detail oriented and enjoy working collaboratively to develop or improve product designs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors, associate's degree, or certification in a related technical field or at least 1 year of CAD work experience
- Detail Oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Creo and/or Windchill
- Prior experience working as a mechanical designer with direct CAD applications
- CAD Training Certification
What you will be doing:
- You will work with engineers, mechanical designers, manufacturing, suppliers, marketing and industrial design by performing large, complex mechanical design assignments related to the creation, development and/or improvement of product designs.
- Conceive designs, mechanical design analysis, intent and verification.
- Maintain technical integrity of the product by sound application of mechanical design principles, fabrication principles and verification activities.
- Create computer models for mechanical design and engineering analysis.
- Mechanical design documentation, verification and records. Create documentation package and verify accuracy and completeness.
- Support mechanical engineers, team members and customers and ensure that goals and objectives are met through effective involvement, contribution and coordination.
- Comply with the Steelcase quality system to ensure that all applicable procedures and standards are followed. Ensure quality results in all deliverables.
