Who you are
As the Senior Data Manager reporting to the Chief Data Officer, you will provide the day-to-day leadership and strategy to guide the team and mature our data operations. You will manage the production and maintenance of Regrid’s nationwide parcel dataset and other spatial products from sourcing through ETL and delivery.
The core of your role is managing a team of talented data professionals and working cross-departmentally to ensure priorities are aligned and executed. A strong technical and business understanding of spatial data, ETL and data pipelines, and data products is key.

Job Responsibilities
Team Leadership & coordination
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of seven skilled data professionals.
- Foster a collaborative environment, provide training, and plan & encourage individual growth; coach challenges and solutions.
- Coordinate with teams across the company, including Product, Engineering, and Sales.
- Collaborate with other external partners and stakeholders.
- Deeply understand customer needs and advocate for quality, accuracy, and customer service.
Data Management
- Own data-related projects from inception through maintenance, ensuring data and process aligns with organizational goals and project requirements.
- Oversee and participate in data acquisition, cleansing, validation and enrichment processes.
- Build, coordinate, manage, and optimize data software, tools, and systems, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization.
- Evaluate, recommend, and take a hands-on role implementing new technologies, software, and methodologies to improve processes, enhance capabilities, and grow team capacity and experience.
- Conduct advanced analysis and develop reports, maps and data visualizations to support decision-making processes.
- Maintain proper documentation, metadata, and version control.
- Translate business objectives into actionable initiatives, balancing short-term priorities with long-term goals to solve business needs.
- In collaboration with our Engineering team, ensure system security, data backup, and disaster recovery procedures are in place for data.
- Assist in evolving data governance frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance, data privacy, and security protocols are aligned with industry standards.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of data management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a positive, blameless team culture.
- Exceptional project management and technical skills, with a track record of driving outcomes while identifying and eliminating process inefficiencies.
- Strong fluency in modern GIS tools, web mapping technologies, and spatial databases, especially GDAL and PostGIS, used efficiently at large data scales (10s-1,000s of GB).
- Fluency in SQL as well as least one programming language: we primarily use Ruby, Javascript, and some Python
- Experience with government and public records, ideally parcel data
- Experience building and managing ETL processes and pipelines, navigating complexity to deliver clear and concise processes
- Comfort maintaining focus and driving progress in evolving landscapes,
Not required, but nice to have
- Small or medium business experience in a B2B and B2C SaaS environment
- A portfolio of data-focused projects you’ve contributed to
- Experience with ESRI enterprise systems
- Experience with Kubernetes, Ruby on Rails, React, Redux, and other modern development and devops tools and concepts
- Deep experience with QGIS, Mapbox, MapLibre, and other open mapping technologies
- Knowledge of modern column-based data formats such as Parquet and stores such as Apache Spark or Sedona, Snowflake, Big Query, or or similar systems
- A passion for process optimization and bottleneck elimination
Compensation and benefits
- Salary Range: $160,000 - $190,000 Base + Variable Compensation
