We are hiring at multiple levels on the business development team, including Business Development Managers, and Directors. Career band and title are dependent on experience. This role involves leveraging relationships within the fitness and/or amateur sports industry throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will be responsible for articulating our mission and demonstrating how we care for our clients. The candidate will leverage and cultivate their existing personal connections while actively prospecting for new partnerships daily. This position requires a thorough understanding of our mission and how we support the industry, as well as connecting personal and prospective contacts to the appropriate team within the brokerage unit.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in youth and amateur Sports and/or Fitness ecosystem. Players Health is a remote-first distributed workforce and this position available to work remotely in a state in which we currently have employees, unless approved otherwise. The Business Development role has a compensation range of $130,000 - $200,000, depending on skills and experience and offers quarterly bonuses based on KPI and new revenue brought into the organization.

Responsibilities (are Inclusive Of But Not Limited To)
- Build and nurture relationships with national governing bodies, sports facilities, sports organizations and leagues by effectively communicating our mission and the value of our insurance partnership.
- Represent the Players Health at relevant vendor shows and industry conferences, engaging with stakeholders to further our mission and uncover new business opportunities while showcasing our services and solutions.
- Prospect and cultivate relationships with various sports organizations and camps across the country, promoting our capabilities and aligning them with their insurance needs.
- Stay informed by continually educating yourself on current trends, challenges, and innovations in the amateur sports industry to effectively convey the company’s value proposition and better serve client needs.
- Communicate the company mission by understanding and clearly articulating the mission, as well as the full spectrum of ancillary offerings provided to our insurance clients, ensuring the prospects fully comprehend our value proposition.
- Employ a team approach when gathering data from clients, collaborating with other members of the brokerage unit to ensure a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and to deliver tailored solutions.

- Strive for continuous improvement of team and cross-departmental processes to increase operational excellence
- Demonstrate responsiveness and urgency to prospects, as well as internal communication with colleagues within and across departments
- Smoothly transition clients to the appropriate divisions, whether it be the Fitness Division or the Sports Division, ensuring they receive specialized attention and expertise.
- Engage in industry networking by actively participating in networking groups such as Rex Round Tables, Project Play or similar, to stay informed about industry trends, share insights, and build valuable connections that may lead to potential partnerships.
- This position requires up to 30% travel, to trade shows, team and prospect/client meetings, conferences, etc.
- 7+ years' experience selling and/or consulting in the youth and/or amateur sports market
- Must have a desire and drive to learn and develop knowledge in the sports insurance industry
- Prior experience building a sales strategy to meet and attain quotas
- Proven track record of success in high activity sales role with clear examples of results
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to balance competing priorities between sales and servicing of clients
- 10+ years' experience in customer facing and/or servicing role
- Demonstrated resilience and ability to adapt to change
- Demonstrated ability to follow process and procedures, as well as identify and recommend improvements
- Experience and proficiency with Salesforce, agency CRMs, and/or other sales and customer management platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new platforms, processes and systems.
- Demonstrated and proven sales methodology, including an unwavering commitment to accurate and timely data entry
- Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Although not required, a bachelor's degree in insurance, Sales or related field is desired.
- Strong emotional intelligence skills
- Knowledge of insurance industry, or desire and ability to quickly learn and stay apprised
- Prior experience in a fast growth, developing organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience in the youth and amateur sports industry, as a professional, athlete, coach, board member, volunteer, or other is helpful, but not required
- Must have a dedicated safe and secure remote work environment
- Must have the ability to work and be productive in a remote work environment
- Exceptionally self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
- Proactive communicator in all communication methods, including email (Outlook), verbal (in-person & phone), instant messaging (Slack & Teams)
- Willingness and ability to attend virtual meetings with a camera on – we respect that there are times when employees may need to turn their camera off.
