Lead Ruby on Rails Engineer
Point & Pay- Remote US
*This is an early management role with direct reports*
What you'll be doing:
Lead, mentor, and motivate team members. This may include coaching and developing team members, identifying promotion/growth opportunities, executing progressive disciplinary action, and participating in performance reviews
Delegate tasks to team members based on management requests and project needs
Take the lead on investigating and resolving technical issues and provide escalated technical support while partnering with peers to build a solid basis for technical expertise and troubleshooting problems
Complete data integration projects to connect new clients and partners
Assist in the migration of clients from legacy products to new products, developing configuration tools and configuration scripts as necessary
Ensure development and related procedures adhere to organizational values
Ensuring team adherence to project quality standards
Communicating business specifications to development teams
Assisting with application troubleshooting and debugging
Keeping projects on schedule to meet deadlines
Writing testable and scalable code for programs
Educating junior developers on best practices
Build tools to reduce the occurrences of errors and improve the customer experience
Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
Perform root cause analysis for production errors
Additional projects as assigned by management
What we need from you:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of Programming and Application Development in Ruby on Rails.
1+ yr of experience in Java
Ability to effectively interact with, lead and mentor individuals with varying levels of experience and further develop them to higher levels of independent effectiveness
Must be self-motivated and able to meet objectives with little supervision, as well as the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities with attention to detail
Well-developed technical and analytical skills to support and troubleshoot complex issues in an enterprise environment
Hands-on knowledge of Source Code Management (Version Control System) tools like Git
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (preferred):
Log management and review
Maintaining Payment Card Industry Digital Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance
Full-Stack experience preferred
Fluent and experience with applications running SQL and MySQL for database management
Additional Information:
Direct Reports: 2-3
Salary Range: $125,000- $145,000
