Location: Detroit (On-site)
Type: Pay $23 to $25 an hour

The Accounting Clerk Role

Works under the direction of the Accounting Manager providing accounting and operation support. Responsible for data entry and reconciliation of AR/AP and reporting from multiple databases/systems. Full time in office position working from the Detroit office.

Accounting Clerk Responsibilities

• Assist with the data entry and reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable
• Executes accurate reporting, filing, and database management in multiple systems
• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts
• Collect, analyze, and convert data to general ledger system
• Maintain historical records by filing accounting documents and related support
• Work closely with internal and external departments to ensure transactions are properly recorded and complete
• Answer questions by researching and interpreting data
• Perform other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
  • Prior business experience preferred
  • Ability to plan and manage time for multiple tasks to meet established deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills; frequently communicate with team members and customers; must be able to exchange accurate information
  • Able to detect safety concerns and adjust accordingly
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Must maintain confidentiality of all work-related information
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion
  • Good work habits and willingness to work extended hours if requested to complete a job when required to meet deadlines
