The Early Periodic Screening Detection & Treatment (EPSDT) Liaison contractor works independently to ensure Medi-Cal members under the age of twenty-one have access to the EPSDT benefit and associated services. This includes, but is not limited to, contacting/connecting members to Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) further ensuring early screenings, collecting reports/data to better complete member’s health record, and disseminating necessary medical information to those working with the member.

**Remote, must reside in CA, onsite for quarterly meetings

Duties:

  • The EPSDT Liaison works closely with external programs connected to the EPSDT benefit such as the Regional Centers, California Children’s Services, Early Start and the various specialty providers identified through the benefit. This includes Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Vision and Dental.
  • The processes for accessing these services should be seamless for the member despite the level of coordination with PPGs/IPAs and outside vendors which the EPSDT Liaison shall be responsible for coordinating.
  • Implement policies and procedures related to Early Periodic Screen Detection and Treatment and Behavioral Health Services considering unique need/s of each member and the community.
  • Contact PCPs ensuring early screening making internal and external referrals while ensuring the referrals are processed within a timely manner.
  • Collect EPSDT/BH related information and disseminate to appropriate providers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation/ updating systems and prepare monthly activity report.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Work
  • Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing BHT services and/or working with Regional Centers.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in managed care settings.
  • Bilingual – Spanish Managed Health Care Experience (Care Coordination)
  • In-depth knowledge regarding EPSDT criteria.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and a strong team and customer services skills.
  • Ability to make quick appropriate decision in absence of upper management in the best interest of the member.

Professional Licenses/Professional Certifications:

  • Required: Board Certified Behavioral Analyst – Active, current and unrestricted California license and/ or
  • Behavioral Analyst Board Certification such as Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT),
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCABA)
  • Preferred: Behavioral Health License
