POSITION OVERVIEW
The Benefits Specialist II will manage both internal and external customer inquiries as a subject matter expert on the Gentex benefit product offerings. This role will primarily focus on education and communication to Gentex Team Members and third-party vendors.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Educate Team Members during new hire onboarding and annual open enrollment regarding basic benefit offerings including, but not limited to, Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, Vision, Flexible Savings Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life and AD&D, Group Critical Illness, Group Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Employee Assistance program, and 401k Retirement Savings Plan.
- Connect with Team Members in the manner most convenient, whether via in person, telephone, and/or e-mail, in a timely manner.
- Represent the voice of Team Members with regards to third-party vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Create and maintain new hire onboarding and open enrollment communications and processes related to benefit and wellness programs.
- Manage and audit weekly payroll deductions related to Medical, 401k, and other benefits programs.
- Coordinate between Team Members, third-party vendors, and Payroll to assure accurate premiums are withheld and make reconciliations, as necessary.
- Document standard operating procedures for various processes and procedures to promote efficiency and ensure consistency.
- Assist in maintaining benefit plan records.
- Approve new hire enrollments and mid-year qualified life status changes.
- Analyze, support, and manage the 401k Retirement Savings Plan audits and reports.
- Assist in decision making for yearly insurance benefits.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or another related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
WHAT WILL HELP
- 2+ years of benefits experience.
- Strong understanding of corporate policies and HR laws, including 401k, ACA, and HIPAA.
