Global PMO Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Global PMO Project Manager will lead the execution and delivery of strategic, cross-functional projects across the organization. This role will eventually manage and mentor a team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Business Excellence, this role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership and organizational skills, a deep understanding of project management methodologies, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives across diverse teams and geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

PMO Development

  • Design and implement the PMO’s structure, policies, and processes to support project delivery across the organization.
  • Define and promote PMO best practices, standards, and methodologies
  • Create and maintain templates, tools, and dashboards to enhance project tracking, reporting, and communication.

Project Execution

  • Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of global projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to ensure successful outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and performance metrics to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.

Governance and Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to project governance standards and best practices.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular status reports and updates.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in project management methodologies
  • Ensure efficient use of project management tools and systems to improve visibility, productivity, and outcomes.

Team Leadership

  • Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship as team grows, fostering their professional development and performance.
  • Assign and delegate project responsibilities to team members, ensuring clarity of roles and accountability.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to support team growth and engagement.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on managing large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects within a global organization.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Experience managing internal and external cross-functional teams and stakeholders top-level down

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, JIRA) and analytics platforms.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership skills focusing on coaching, mentoring, and team development.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred
