We are looking to add a Senior Benefits Analyst to the team who will play a critical role in the success and ongoing growth and scale of ActiveCampaign. The Sr. Benefits Analyst is responsible for assisting with the administration of all global benefit programs, including leaves of absence. This position will be responsible for driving ActiveCampaign’s benefits function: performing extensive plan analysis, design, and modeling for all health and welfare benefits plans. Develops proposals for new or modified employee benefits. Oversees ongoing administration of existing plans. Also responsible for all compliance-related activities (required audits and IRS filings) as well as managing all vendor relationships (examples include broker, insurance carriers, wellness, and 401k recordkeeper).

What your day could consist of:

  • Partner with Sr. Manager of Global Benefits to administer the global benefits and leaves of absence programs
  • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to evaluate current plans and/or design new plans
  • Evaluate and administer benefit programs including health, welfare, and retirement plans
  • Recommends benefit programs to Sr. Manager of Global Benefits by studying employee requirements, utilization trends, and developments in benefits based on competitive benchmarking data
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits enrollments, changes, escalations, and general questions while providing a positive experience
  • Conduct new hire orientation and present benefits overview
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence, disability, and Workers’ Compensation requests
  • Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws
  • Act as the liaison between employees and insurance carriers to resolve eligibility questions, claims issues, and benefit escalations
  • Administer recurring and ad-hoc audits to ensure accurate processing of benefit elections, carrier interfaces, payroll files, etc.
  • Help identify and troubleshoot process breakdowns, revise department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and communicate process changes to the team
  • Participates in meetings, updating systems, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Support relationships with vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders
  • Perform monthly end-to-end benefit reconciliations for all lines of coverage, calculate retro-adjustments for premiums, vendor adjustments/credits, and HRIS benefit premium collection
  • Project manage the annual Open Enrollment process from beginning to end including drafting communications, plan design changes, UAT, answering employee questions, and auditing enrollment data
  • Administer ongoing compliance filing of 5500s, SARs, Non-Discrimination Testing, ACA 1095-C filings, and other required filings to ensure compliance with federal and state laws

What is needed:

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience and thorough knowledge of Human Resources, benefits administration, and leaves of absence
  • Mastery of benefits administration - plan documents, modeling, and legal requirements
  • Deep understanding of benefit plan design concepts and issues
  • Comprehensive understanding of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, Section 125, IRS, and other regulatory requirements
  • Project management experience is preferred
  • Vendor management experience is a plus
  • Global benefit experience a plus
  • 3+ years of Workday experience is required
  • Knowledge of other system-based platforms such as JIRA (automating ticketing system) is a plus
  • Advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLookups); proficient in the rest of the MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and general computer use
