Welcome to Purpose Jobs

Welcome to Purpose Jobs

Three years ago, I started re:purpose because I wanted to help people find jobs they loved.

The process of finding a new job can feel frustrating, time-consuming, and not very human. So I wanted to create a platform that centered around community, education, culture, and purpose.

With the help of an amazing team, we built re:purpose into a community of 40,000 members and a platform that matches passionate people with purpose-driven startups. And we’re only growing bigger.

We’re constantly innovating and thinking about how we can help more people follow their passions. Even now, as we figure out how to navigate our next normal and with a huge part of the community finding themselves unemployed, this is a unique moment to rethink career paths and refocus on what truly matters.

Over the past year, we’ve been thinking a lot about our mission, about expansion and about opportunity. We recently reached out to our community members to ask their input on rebranding our company to be simpler and clearer while staying true to our original core values and vision. If you took our survey and gave us your feedback, thank you! We appreciate everyone who has provided input, and we’re so grateful that you’re riding shotgun on this wild journey of ours.

After a lot of consideration, we’ve come to a decision. And we’re so excited to introduce to you our new brand name: Purpose Jobs!

Same mission, simpler name.

We’re always working to innovate and find new solutions that will help talented people and great startups get connected. Even though we changed our name and our logo, we’re still the same team helping people find purpose-driven jobs.

As businesses grow, they tend to become overly complicated. We want to do the opposite. As we grow, it’s about keeping things simple. Purpose Jobs is clean and to the point. It’s easy to remember, and easy to find. It’s our way of making ourselves even more accessible. But most importantly, it tells you what we do, and what is at the core of who we are.

What do the triangles mean?

If you’ve heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, you can guess where this is heading. According to Abraham Maslow, humans have five categories of needs: physiological, safety, love, esteem, and self-actualization. Because it’s a hierarchy, the next need can’t be fulfilled until the first one is. This is demonstrated by a triangle, with the final need, self-actualization, at the peak.Maslows hierarchy

What is self-actualization exactly? It’s the feeling of being fulfilled, of living up to our potential, our purpose. Maslow said it’s rarely achieved, but we think it can be done.

This has been our mission since day one: finding fulfillment in your career, helping you realize your potential and doing what you’re meant to do. And that’s represented by the triangles in our logo.

If you have any questions about what this means for you, check out our rebranding FAQ below, or feel free to reach out to me: ryan@purpose.jobs.

With love and gratitude,

FAQ

Q: Why are you updating your name?
A: We want to make things simple and easy. The name Purpose Jobs tells people exactly what we do, it’s easy to find (and remember), it matches our new url, and it’s true to our mission and values.

Q: What’s everything that’s changing?
A: The only things that are different are our name, logo, and url. So instead of repurpose.co, you can find us at purpose.jobs.

Q: Are your services changing?
A: Nope! The services we offer are staying the same. The change is only happening with our name, logo, and url.

Q: What does the new logo stand for?
A: So glad you asked. It has to do with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, which is demonstrated by a triangle, with the highest need, self-actualization, at the peak. Self-actualization is just a big word for the feeling you get when you’re living your purpose, doing what we’re meant to be doing. Helping people achieve this feeling has been our mission since day one, and the triangles represent our commitment to this mission.

Q: Do I need to do anything with my talent profile?
A: Nope! Nothing is changing with your profile. You’ll see our new name and logo when you log in, but you’ll still have access to the job board, and there’s nothing you need to do with your account.

Q: Is there anything changing with my employer profile?
A: Like with the talent profiles, you’ll see our new name and logo when you log in, but there are no other changes to your profile. Same functionality, same great candidates. Nothing on your end that needs to be updated. If you’re not already signed up as an employer, there’s still time to register and get free access to sourcing tools, job postings, and more. You can learn all about free access here

Q: Where can I find you on social media?
A: If you’re already following us (hey, thanks!), you’re still following us. If you’re not following us yet and want to, you can find us @purposejobs

Q: When I google re:purpose, will the correct site pop up?
A: Yep! We’ll redirect you to our new url: purpose.jobs
