While climate tech companies were less abundant — and raised less money — in the 2010s, investors started to take notice in 2020. $37.5B in capital was invested in climate tech companies in 2020, peaking at $75.4B in 2021, according to Pitchbook data. While investments have tapered off since then, investments in climate tech startups are still robust.
