Hi! We’re Purpose Jobs, the largest community of purpose-driven professionals and companies.
We strongly believe that the most powerful thing we have to give is our time, so let’s dedicate it to doing something that matters.
We started in Detroit in 2017 on a mission to help people discover purpose-driven work opportunities that align with their values. We were singularly focused on the startup and tech community in Detroit.
Soon after, we noticed that the same tech boom in our city was also happening in cities like Columbus, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and across the Midwest region. So we expanded to become the Midwest’s largest startup and tech community.
Today, we’re doubling down on our commitment to purpose by expanding our reach even further to include purpose-driven tech companies nationwide.
While our roots remain in the Midwest, we’re excited to apply our local community approach to help underserved hubs across the country.

Our URL hasn’t changed, but you will find some new pages to help you get to where you want to be: Slack community, Purpose Studios, companies, and, of course, our brand new job board.

Using new technology, we’re curating the top mission-driven startup and tech jobs in our region (and beyond).
Companies that you’ve come to know and love through us are still featured, in addition to hundreds more purpose-driven companies.
We have over 3,000 startup and tech jobs on our job board, and that number is only growing. Located in cities across the Midwest, as well as fully remote opportunities, these companies and their jobs have been vetted by our team, to make sure they align with the values our community is looking for: mission-oriented, people-first, and culture-forward.
The technology, powered by Getro (thank you, Evan Walden and the entire team), allows you to easily filter the job board with your preferences, and jobs are updated daily to pull the most accurate information.
