In celebration of Pride Month, we're highlighting companies that are founded by a member of the LGBTQ+ community or are LGBTQ+ friendly. Highlighting these organizations helps in the effort of bringing to light the environments that are safe for LGBTQ+ professionals and their allies.

LGBTQ+ Owned and Founded Tech Startups and Companies

1. Hornet Networks

Hornet is a queer tech platform that connects the queer community in a safe environment to be their authentic selves. Since being founded in 2011, the platform has gained 35 million users and has a large user base in the United States and in Europe. They are “committed to empowering queer people and cultivating meaningful LGBTQ relationships.”

2. WERKIN

WERKIN is a professional development network and resource that was founded under the idea that inclusive leadership is everything. They provide people with resources like mentors and workshops, as well as support groups for various minority communities. You can even get a personalized plan to help with your specific career needs. 

3. GPSGAY

GPSGAY is a mobile app created to help the queer community connect and feel at home. The app allows people to connect with people, but also organizations to connect with people in order to better understand and serve the queer community. The goal of this app is to educate society in an effort to avoid bullying and harmful misconceptions.

4. Circadian Risk

This security and compliance platform assesses, analyzes, and monitors risk for your company. They’re obsessed with finding intruders and keeping them out, so you can continue your business as usual. At Circadian Risk, they believe “security and safety professionals should not only be able to easily access information about their sites' security but to confidently use their findings to build safety infrastructure that's sustainable and trustworthy.” We sat down with the founder, Daniel, to talk about inclusive workplaces and being an ally. This healthcare solution is specifically designed for the LGBTQ+ community. Folx Health prides itself on education and available healthcare for all people, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. With virtual care, estrogen and testosterone memberships, and sexual education, they’ve truly become the most inclusive healthcare solution. 6. Troglo

Troglo is an LGBTQ+-owned marketing wifi company that specializes in bringing wifi to customers in all the right places. With their Reach Wifi Solution, you can provide customers wifi through small routers and Troglo beautiful splash pages when customers connect successfully. They are the first and only Canadian Wifi Marketing platform. 

7. Euphoria.LGBT

Euphoria.LGBT is the ultimate transition support app. They know that gender transitioning is hard and can take a long time, especially if you’re managing the process on your own. That’s where they step in. This app supports transitions through managing timelines, goals, and legalities. Euphoria.LGBT will even help you with a strategy for coming out.

8. Lifehacker

Founded by Gina Trapani, Lifehacker is a blog created to provide life hacks that make life simpler. Topics range from exercise to food to money and even parenting hacks. In recent years, this tech blog was acquired by Univision. 

9. Prezi

Prezi is a cloud-based platform created to help people share information in a creative and engaging way. Co-founder and CEO of Prezi, Peter Arvai, created Prezi in the hopes that people can create presentations in a way that information is fun, exciting, and will be easily remembered. 

10. Casata

Serving the Austin, TX community, Casata is a micro-home rental app that allows users to book home rentals specifically in the Austin area. Their selection of tiny homes (400-750 square feet) meets the demands of the ever-growing tiny living community. They also have a dedicated food truck area, fitness classes, and a small concert venue to bring the experience of renting a tiny home full circle.

11. myGwork

Award-winning company myGwork is the largest global business community for LGBTQ+ professionals, graduates, inclusive employers, and anyone who believes in workplace equality. It aims to empower the LGBTQ+ community by offering individual members a safe space where they can connect with inclusive employers, find jobs, mentors, professional events, and news.

The company’s founders Adrien and Pierre Gaubert won the Attitude Young LGBTQ+ Entrepreneur of the Year Award, were honored as one of the Top 100 Global LGBT+ OUTstanding Executives, and were listed as one of the UK’s Top 50 inclusion champions in the 2022/23 Diversity Power List. The company also won last year’s Bank of London’s 2022 Rainbow Honours.

1. BrandXR

BrandXR is a no-code Augmented Reality platform and award-winning XR creative studio. One of 8 startups selected, BrandXR is part of Morgan Stanley's 7th cohort in the Multicultural Innovation Lab, which supports diverse founders. They know that igniting innovation and opportunity at every stage requires a culture that is respectful and inclusive, which is why they developed a plan to help employees who want to undergo a gender transition. 

2. KLA

KLA is a global tech company that helps create semiconductors for the technological devices that transform and shape our current lives. The company is dedicated to increasing its diversity and having a culture of inclusion. They also have an employee resource group called PRISM (where Pride, Respect, and Solidarity Meet) – A global organization that amplifies KLA’s commitment to equality and inclusion by promoting a safe and open working environment for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

3. Veeva Systems

Veeva Systems is a leader in cloud-based business solutions for the global life sciences industry. As a Public Benefit Corporation, Veeva remains a for-profit corporation but is legally obligated to consider the needs of multiple stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, and employees. Veeva also believes that inclusive workplaces perform better, which is why they have multiple employee groups, including the Veeva Pride Community.

It’s important to have inclusivity within and outside of an organization. Supporting employees will only help them support customers. Allowing people to bring their authentic selves to work makes a world of difference.
