For the product implementation team, keeping the mission of LeanTaaS at the forefront of their work comes naturally.

LeanTaaS, a tech company that’s transforming healthcare through AI, uses data and analytics to optimize healthcare capacity and improve patient access. Their solutions help decrease operating costs, reduce wait times for patients, improve patient access and more.

We chatted with Alexis Alzamora, a Product Implementation & Customer Success Manager, to learn more about a day in the life at LeanTaaS.

Meet Alexis

Alexis has been on the LeanTaaS team for over two and a half years. She lives an hour south of Raleigh, North Carolina and works remotely.

leantaas manager - alexisIn her role on the product implementation team, she works with customers to help them successfully use LeanTaaS’ technology, specifically its solution for infusion centers.

“It goes beyond implementing our product,” Alexis says. “The product implementation team really acts as consultants for infusion centers. They really trust us as experts.”

On a day-to-day basis, Alexis monitors customer operations, finds trends or abnormalities to report, helps troubleshoot, and works on operational improvements. For example, if she notices there’s been a lot of appointment cancellations or no-shows, she’ll suggest that the customer may need a better policy, or try to figure out another solution.

“It’s all about putting the customer and their problems first,” she says. “We’re big on continuous improvement, and that goes for our own teams as well as the ones we serve.”

A Day In The Life At LeanTaaS

Alexis and her team start their day around 9 AM. The first thing she’ll do is check her email and see what upcoming calls she has for the day or the week ahead.

Some of her calls are the standard check in: she’ll review data, trends as seen in the LeanTaaS platform, and help the customer understand how that will impact their day-to-day operations.

Other calls require custom analysis. Alexis will build a presentation, gleaning data and information from the LeanTaaS product and its predictive analytics tools. Sometimes she’ll consult other statisticians from the team to get really in depth. Based on the data, they’ll make recommendations to the customer to help them optimize their operations.

“Data can help back up our customers’ lived experiences. If they’re feeling a problem, we can see in the data that the problem really does exist,” says Alexis. “It can validate the issues they’re experiencing and also create a path forward. We’re really problem solvers for our customers.”

Because Alexis works so closely with customers and the product, she is also involved in internal projects. She’ll make suggestions to the product team or go through training when a product update is released.

Remote But Never Alone

LeanTaaS is a remote-friendly company with offices in Santa Clara, California and Charlotte, North Carolina. Many choose a hybrid model, coming into the office a few times a week, but many employees, like Alexis, are completely remote.

Being remote gives Alexis the kind of flexibility she needs. As a mother to young kids, Alexis appreciates being able to take care of things like doctor appointments, having the flexibility to travel, and being a human at work.

Plus, LeanTaaS uses collaborative tools like Slack channels to keep everyone connected. They’re helpful for talking about work, solving problems, and answering questions. But the team also uses Slack to build connections. There are channels about kids, food, pets, travel, and even crocheting.

Another team building event that LeanTaaS supports is remote experiences. Occasionally, the team will connect remotely to catch up on life, do an Airbnb experience like tarot card readings, or play a murder mystery game — all over a company-sponsored lunch or snack.

“LeanTaaS really prioritizes team building. They give each team a budget and they decide what to do with it,” Alexis says.

But it’s not just about sharing lunch over Zoom. Alexis says it’s really about having a culture of support.

“I feel really supported at LeanTaaS. Leadership has our back. There’s never a dumb question, and your team is always happy to help,” she says.

Plus, the mission of the organization makes Alexis’ work all the more meaningful. As LeanTaaS’ technology helps improve the operations of infusion centers (places where people might be getting critical medicine like chemotherapy), their technology directly impacts people who need critical healthcare.

“Everyone knows someone who has had cancer. It feels really good that you’re able to help in some way,” she says. “It’s more than a job. It feels good in your soul.”
